Stitching the panorama and the software itself
Can I create a virtual tour with Autopano Pro or Giga?
Autopano Pro and Autopano Giga are image-stitching software applications. You can create panoramas, gigapixel images and stitch 360° x 180° images with the goal of using them in virtual tours, but you need Panotour or Panotour Pro to create the actual virtual tours that allow interaction and multimedia options.
Can I stitch RAW images?
Yes, but it's not 'recommended'. Autopano is stitching software, not RAW decoding software, so Autopano will only decode the RAW files with the very default values, defeating the whole purpose of RAW shooting. Camtasia v2019 0 7. It is best to treat your RAWs in dedicated software beforehand. Prefer shooting in JPG or TIFF if you do not want to treat the RAW photos.
Autopano is able to decode the RAW format. However, the different RAW formats evolve over time, depending on brands and camera models. Therefore, it is possible that Autopano can't decode some RAW files, simply because the database is not updated.
This usually happens when a new camera model is released, containing a new coding of its RAW format and which is not included in Autopano.
The solution for that is to decode this new RAW format in .tiff 16 bits format, which is the equivalent of what Autopano does during the decoding.
We update our decoding database following this evolution, but it takes some time, so there is a delay between the release of a camera and the update of a new version of Autopano that support this new encoding format.
Can I use an already stitched panorama in Autopano to edit?
Autopano does not support ready-rendered and projected panoramas in input.
I can only save my panorama as a .pano, are there any other export formats available?
When you save as a .pano, you are saving the project, so that you can open it again in Autopano if further editing is required.
If you want to save your panorama, to be able to open it in Photoshop for example, as a JPG or TIFF, you have to render it.
What graphical formats are supported in output of Autopano Pro and Autopano Giga?
Autopano Giga can export your stitched images in the following formats:
JPG/JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
HDR Radiance (.hdr)
PNG (.png)
PSD/PSB including the layers (.psd, .psb)
TIFF including the layers (.tiff, .tif)
EXR (.exr)
Kolor Raw (.kro)
Why is the Vertical lines tool greyed out?
The Vertical Lines tool can only be used if your panorama is using the Spherical or Planar projection. Horizontal lines in this tool are only available when using the planar projection.
Why does Autopano use so much memory?
When Autopano is launched, it assigns itself a percentage of your available memory. This feature increases the preformance and efficiency of the software, but all the assigned memory is not necessarily used. The memory is not released until Autopano is completely closed.
For users of version 3.0.8 and older
